What are we looking for?

We are seeking a talented Trader Industrial Chemicals to join our team. He/she should have a high commercial and entrepreneur mindset, a first experience in trade/sales of chemicals in the Food and Animal Nutrition industry in West Africa and be fluent in French and English.

What do we expect from the candidate?

The candidate will be part of the Industrial Chemicals team and report to the Trading Manager. The objective of this role is to continue developing CFR/trade sales of strategic products in the West Africa region, targeting segments including, but not limited to, Food and Animal Nutrition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Target customers and expand Solevo’s share of wallet in the assigned segments and countries.
• Prospect new customers/geographies and work on a pipeline of new opportunities.
• Develop long-term and sustainable business with customers and suppliers.
• Together with product management, actively develop key product lines in the market in coordination with the strategy set by the trading manager.
• Assess customer financial strength and propose financial conditions to the credit risk.
• Follow up customer’s payments with Finance department.
• Together with the Execution team, make sure a top level of service is provided to customers.
• Have direct contact with suppliers and, on back-to-back basis, source and negotiate sourcing pricing of the sold volumes.
• Track, follow & analyze competition.
• Willing to travel (30% of the time).
  
  

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Business school or Engineering / Chemical degree.
• First experience in international trade/sales of chemicals in the Food & Animal Nutrition industry in West Africa.
• Proven track record of sales in West Africa
• Fluency in French and English

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• Fluent in any other language (e.g. Arabic).
