What are we looking for?
We are seeking an experienced and talented Country Financial Planning & Analysis Lead to join our Finance Team.
What do we expect from the candidate?
The candidate will be part of our Finance team. We are seeking an experienced Country FP & A Lead to lead our business planning, forecasting, and strategic financial initiatives. This role serves as the custodian of the company’s business plan, partnering closely with the CEO and CFO to ensure our strategies are accurate, relevant, and adaptable. The successful candidate will collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to deliver insightful commercial and financial analysis that supports decision‑making, strengthens performance, and drives long‑term growth.
The key responsibilities:
Business Planning, Management and Process Control
Lead business planning and oversee key financial and operational processes.
Conduct detailed performance analysis (gross margins, profitability, customer metrics, sales channel effectiveness) to identify risks and opportunities.
Prepare KPI dashboards and report on variances against budget, forecast, and prior periods.
Enhance analytical frameworks to improve business performance insights.
Manage long-term financial planning and develop forecasts for funding applications.
Contribute to strategic leadership discussions.
Decision Support on Key Commercial Initiatives
Support business functions in developing business cases for initiatives such as new product launches and pricing changes, ensuring performance can be tracked across all business units.
Monitor and evaluate actual results against approved business cases to assess effectiveness and identify improvement areas.
Provide ad‑hoc financial and commercial analysis to enable informed business decision‑making.
Budgeting, Business Planning & Forecasting
Collaborate with business functions to strengthen monthly forecasts and annual budgets, ensuring alignment between Finance and operational teams.
Manage and coordinate the company’s annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting cycles.
Consolidate operating and capital expenditure and review financial statements for submission to Shareholders and Group Finance.
Monitor and evaluate results to ensure compliance with financial covenants.
Systems and Policies
Partner with IT to ensure financial systems operate effectively and support business needs.
Lead and facilitate the implementation or enhancement of ERP systems for the Finance function.
Develop and oversee Finance policies, processes, and procedures to uphold financial reporting integrity and ensure alignment with Group standards.
Project Evaluation
Lead the development of business cases for major projects aligned with the company’s operational plan.
Engage executives to define project scope, deliverables, and expected outcomes.
Partner with commercial and strategy teams to shape project plans and provide guidance to ensure successful execution.
Evaluate project proposals and business cases from all functional areas submitted to FP&A for approval.
Assess strategic and financial implications of projects and prepare comprehensive financial evaluations.
Analytical Support to Corporate Finance
Lead financial analysis and modelling to support Corporate Finance transactions.
Participate in discussions with funders and counterparties as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management to support broader organisational objectives.
Cost and Budget Management
Ensure auditors receive the required reports to monitor compliance, address identified issues promptly and implement audit recommendations.
Manage internal and external audit processes, driving continuous reduction of significant audit findings.
Deliver timely, accurate, and consistent reporting and communication to key stakeholders.
If you possess…
Must-Have:
Grade 12 (Matric).
Relevant Tertiary qualification and a registered CA(SA) or any professional degree (CIMA/MBA).
Experience of 8 years or more in a similar or related environment, and with 5 years in a Senior Management position.
At least 5 years in the field of Financial Planning and Operations.
Process orientation.
Financial planning and analysis.
Management of day-to-day financial operations.
Projects appraisals and evaluations.
Experience in leading, guiding & managing a high-performance team.
